WORLD DESIGNER

As a World Designer on Just Cause 3 my focus shifted from micro-scale Level Design to macro-scale.

This time around it was about looking at the inter-connectivity of the game world and how everything fits together in the big picture. This meant evaluating roadnetworks, terrain-sculpting, placement of settlements and outposts and making sure that it all fits together in one cohesive, believable environment.

As I had previously been working closely with World Designers in past projects it was incredibly interesting and educational to see it from their perspective. In a way it finished the circle of Open-World Level Design as I had now fully commited to the two major aspects of building an open Game World.
